HAMILTON, N.J./PITTSBURGH – With an eye toward the future and a reputation built upon nearly 70 years of providing amateur baseball players fun, memorable experiences, the Babe Ruth League will allow players to use Diamond Kinetics’ cutting-edge SwingTracker sensor during live, in-game at-bats at all BRL tournaments beginning this year.
“We are very excited to break new ground in the baseball technology space by giving our players the ability to use Diamond Kinetics’ SwingTracker sensor during live, in-game at bats,” said Steven Tellefsen, President and CEO of Babe Ruth League, Inc. “This should help drive player development and create fun, engaging experiences for parents, players and coaches. We believe it will allow for each of our players to become better hitters and enjoy playing the game more.”
As the Official Motion Technology Partner of Babe Ruth League, Diamond Kinetics SwingTracker will give close to 1 million players spanning three divisions (Babe Ruth Baseball, Cal Ripken Baseball, and Babe Ruth Softball) the ability to capture live, in-game metrics in categories such as Speed, Power, Quickness, and Control.
Players participating in the Babe Ruth League’s local league season will have the first opportunity to capture live, in-game metrics with SwingTracker.
From there, players and coaches will be given the chance to use the cutting-edge sensor technology in-game at over 4,500 Babe Ruth League tournaments during the Spring and Summer, culminating with the Babe Ruth League World Series in July and August 2019.
“This move shows the Babe Ruth League is both serious and knowledgeable about where baseball technology is currently heading,” said Diamond Kinetics CEO C.J. Handron. “We’re very pleased they have made the choice to utilize SwingTracker for live, in-game at-bats during their tournament season and very excited to see how this helps better the experience for players, parents and coaches.”
With this new rule change, players and coaches will have the ability to immediately view and analyze swing metrics captured by the sensor during the game. Parents will also be able to view live metrics from the stands by logging into their player’s Diamond Kinetics account via an iOS device.
Coaches will be encouraged to use SwingTracker in-game with their teams as a way to help players develop and improve with robust, reliable, and objective information.
As the most comprehensive technology-based performance improvement system on the market today, Diamond Kinetics creates the ultimate training platform for any hitter, no matter what age or skill level.
SwingTracker – the cutting-edge, sensor-based swing system that attaches directly to the knob of the bat – captures eleven swing metrics across four core components of the swing (Power, Speed, Quickness, Control), unlocking unbelievably powerful information and tools for coaches and players.
